“There is grace in denial. It’s nature’s way of letting in only as much as we can handle” – Ross & Kessler.
There is nothing that can prepare for the news that you are terminally ill. Naturally, feelings of shock, denial and fear often arise. Some speak of dying, but in reality we are living until our final breath is taken.
At a time of confusion and feeling that there are limited options, I can help by discussing fears and expectations in a supportive environment. Through sharing knowledge of End of Life options, individuals and families can plan for the type of death experience that you want, allowing you to take control of your life again.
“No one told me that grief felt so like fear.”- CS Lewis
End of Life counselling can begin from the moment of diagnosis, or at any stage along the journey. I meet you where you are at, whether that’s the first or final stages, or even the last moments. End of Life counselling can take place online, at home or in hospital. As a trained End of Life Doula, support is offered to both you and your family, assisting and preparing everybody for what is to come, and if needed, also being there at the end to give guidance and support. It is an extreme honour to support people through their final moments.
“Death is the end of a lifetime, not the end of a relationship.” – Mitch Albom
